Game review: No Action Jackson

Point and click games have always been one of my favourite branches of gaming. Classics such as Monkey Island, Beneath a steel sky, Sam and Max or Day of the tentacle have entertained me for hours on, yet none of them became boring like old-hags. The whole genre of “Point and click” games kinda died out in the mass-market in the new millennium. Yet, these games still hold a loyal following to this date. It’s true that bigshot companies like Lucas Arts or Sierra On-line no longer dares to make such franchise, but if you dig around the web, you might just find some hidden jems loitering around. I came across such an entertaining piece of game recently called “No action-jackson“. Its basically a retro looking point and click game that features a half-slacker/half-geekish hero called “Jackson” who is suddenly set on a quest to gather his two friends so that he can finally play a game of slackmaster. To do that, he must solve a lot…and I mean A LOT of mind-bending puzzles and quizes. After all thats what point and click adventures are all about right? Check out the screen-caps below if you are a point and click aficionado like me. Besides, its the perfect game for retro-game nerds out there
A more detailed review of the game is available here. The game is made with the freeware Adventure Game Studio (AGS) engine. People like us can even make our own point and click games with AGS, how cool is that? Anyway, do check out this awesome game…and rest asure that you will be amply entertained
