Alien profinity spotted with tEh Google Earth

February 12, 2006

EarthNo one needs to show signs of the Flynn Effect in order to understand that for sometime Google and its “Google Earth” project has whirled up images that were not so socially acceptable (*conspiracy). One such instance can be made with the “Alien Profanity Factor”. It was found on Friday the 10th (not the 13th) that someone or something had made a weird crop circle in Billingley, Yorkshire , that spoke not of world-peace/world-domination but of stuff that are quite profane in nature. The Register posted an interesting column on the whole event. As the register dudes put it:

NSFW Here’s a Friday poser for you: you’re a member of a highly-advanced alien civilisation and have just travelled to Earth in your hyperdrive-powered craft intending to enjoy a long-weekend break. The trouble is, you can’t decide whether to: a) nip over to rural Idaho, abduct a farmhand and anally probe him before modifying his DNA and dumping him back on the highway; or b) pop down to Billingley in Yorkshire and leave a cryptic message for humanity in a corn field:

G F**K

What basically happened was that someone who was smart/humorous enough to get the idea, actually went out there and scribed the word “FUCK” in subliminal letters (Wait, what?). It just so happens that the fancy calligraphy caught the eyes of some “Google earth crazy” guys and thus it came to the WWW. Those of you who use google earth can download the kmz file needed to view it over here. Or maybe you can take a look at this huge 40 m long profanity in Google Maps over here.
