Alien profinity spotted with tEh Google Earth

February 12, 2006

EarthNo one needs to show signs of the Flynn Effect in order to understand that for sometime Google and its “Google Earth” project has whirled up images that were not so socially acceptable (*conspiracy). One such instance can be made with the “Alien Profanity Factor”. It was found on Friday the 10th (not the 13th) that someone or something had made a weird crop circle in Billingley, Yorkshire , that spoke not of world-peace/world-domination but of stuff that are quite profane in nature. The Register posted an interesting column on the whole event. (more…)

Songbird is in da house

February 9, 2006

songbird Since I experienced Flock, I though the only good thing that can possibly come out of the open-source gecko engine was Firefox (simply because, flock sucked..and besides we didn’t need a blue-fox by any chance). But it seems I was wrong, dead wrong. There are other programs that can rely on the great “Gecko” and still make a valid impression. So is the case of “ Songbird“. One might ask, WTF is it? Well as the developers of Songbird put it, its “A web player built from Firefox’s browser engine. Songbird is open source, will run on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux and supports user contributed, cross-platform extensions.“. So basically its a media player, but one that is open-source, looks mesmerising, has glass-effects and comes in BLACK(*sqeel). (more…)

Ultimate in RC technology

February 7, 2006

rmtYou know those times you want to move your lazy backside but you are short on organic-0ctane? Its time like these that you need a Remote-control (thank lord that IR was discovered far berfore the 21st century) to control all those things or make all those stuff happen. That does indicate that RC-technology can make you lazy, but I can even yield to such a sin for a black-beauty like this. Its called “Simpler Remote“, although I though the whole mechanism must be quite complex (uber cool logic if you ask me). This remote can be used to control a whoooole lot of things/appliances, and it comes in black with clear LCD display (*sqeel). It does look like a modded, long, slick i-pod I must say. It removes the complexity from the job of managing the rapidly growing number of electronic devices and media sources in the home, and it also takes the pain out of hardware development for OEMs. All I have to say is that ITS FREAKING AWESOME (too bad, I won’t probably be able to get one…ever…in my life, *sigh).
