M$ fails me again

Yet again Microsoft and its products have failed me…miserably. This time its the new hip (yeah, right) Windows Live Security Centre (Beta!). I just found out about this new release of the Live! family of windows stuff from DIGG. Then like many other curious nOObs I hurried to safety.live.com to take a peek at this shiny new thingy (ooohhhhh….). I was instantly greeted with pep-talks like “What is beta? M$ A: Beta is geekspeak for “not finished yet.” and “Does it cost anything? M$ A:Nope. Windows Live Safety Center is free.” (amazing, when did they learn this nope word? interesting). Then I pushed that shiny yellow button that said “Full service scan”…after a few prolongated moments, I was greeted with the following screen (click the image for bigger view).

Spot an obvious email scam in Opera

Here’s a useful tip for Opera users (those who use its built in email client). When you suspect a scam email (that which is not being sent from a legit sender), you can easily find out if you’re right or not. Just check out the email’s header information. Click the button called “Display all headers” and inspect the information that follows. You’ll see something like the following: (more…)
